We recently bought a juicer for my household. You know, one of those super-fast spinny contraptions that extracts nutrient rich juices from fruits and vegetables so we don’t actually have to eat carrots and celery and kale – oh my!). As we tried out different recipes to help us achieve our nutrition goals, it occurred to me that, when it comes to furniture for student housing, University Loft has developed the perfect recipe, using only the best ingredients, for college and university living.
First, we start with our environmental commitment. Because the University Loft Green Plan features the use of sustainable, Environmentally Farmed Timber (EFT), we never deplete our natural resources as we make ULoft green student furniture. In fact, we’ve planted more trees than we’ve harvested, so this is one ingredient we never run out of.
Next, we throw in top-quality materials and superior construction. In any recipe, using the best ingredients can mean the difference between good taste or bad, satisfaction or frustration, success or failure. For our student housing furniture, University Loft uses quality EFT hardwoods that are four times stronger than red oak. And we use only the best construction techniques – like English dovetail joints in our desk and dresser drawers, and mortise and tenon joints in our two-position chairs – so our finished college and university furniture products can be enjoyed year after year, even under the stresses dished out by college students.
Finally, we mix in just the right amounts of innovative style, comfort and functionality. These ingredients have been key components in University Loft’s student furnishings since James Jannetides built his first dorm room loft bed in 1986 and they are just as important today. For easy upkeep or updating, we use replaceable fabrics with Velcro® attachments in many of our student lounge furniture pieces. And in the dorm room, our modular student loft beds, desks, dressers and chairs can be arranged and configured to suit student tastes.
For more than 25 years, University Loft has mixed ingredients like these whenever we build our top-quality furniture for student residences. Very satisfying indeed, don’t you think?
