Happy Arbor Day! Last week was Earth Day; today is Arbor Day, both events celebrate the beauty of our world. A few weeks ago, my friends and I planted apple and lemon seeds. We carefully watered them and placed them in the sun. It was so exciting to see the first seedlings burst through the soil. Maybe by next Arbor Day we can put them into the ground. Though Earth Day and Arbor Day are celebrated once a year, University Loft Company is mindful of our environment every day. CEO of ULC, James Jannetides, said years ago, “Taking care of our community forests demonstrates our company’s ongoing commitment to the preservation, protection and enrichment of our environment. Preserving our trees and forests is vital to maintaining our quality of life and working to build a better future. I hope everyone will want to take part in this effort.”
Some of efforts that University Loft does to promote a green plan are:
College furniture, apartment furnishings, off-campus and military housing are made from Environmentally Farmed Timber.
Recycled metals are used whenever possible.
Bins for paper recycling are found throughout the facilities for use by ULC staff.
Cardboard packing materials are recycled.
Environmentally friendly water based stains and lacquers are used on the furniture.
University Loft is mindful of our environment and does our part in keeping our natural world beautiful every day.
