That’s right, University Loft is back in the racing game, and we are excited about it. Along with Jonathan Byrd’s Hospitality & Restaurant Group and several other great organizations, we will be sponsoring, race car driver, Conor Daly. We look forward to a long term relationship with Jonathan Byrd’s.
A second generation race car driver and son of Formula 1 and Indy Car driver, Derek Daly, Conor started focusing on race cars in 2008. His season was exceptional, winning the Skip Barber National Championship and the Ontario Formula Ford 1600 Rookie of Year. Conor finished 3rd in the Star Mazda Championship, the following year, making him the youngest driver to stand on top of the podium. He followed this up with a season in GP3 for Carlin together with five races in Indy Lights driving for Sam Schmidt Motorsports and winning the Grand Prix of Long Beach.
Conor made his Indy 500 debut in 2013 when he drove for AJ Foyt.
He raced in 2014 in GP2 with Venezuela GP Lazarus for 18 of 22 rounds with the best finish of 7th in the sprint race at the Hungaroring.
In 2015, He competed in the Sebring 12 hour race for the first time and finished in 3rd place. The Star of the Race was awarded to him after he had been driving for 6 hours and 27 minutes. This same year, Conor returned to the Indy 500. Unfortunately, mechanical failure forced him to end the race before the green flag.
As you can see, we are excited about sponsoring Conor Daly and seeing some very exhilarating races ahead of us. University Loft is back in the racing game and we are excited about it!
