Have you ever had a great idea for a new product based on a particularly frustrating day-to-day challenge, but just didn’t have the time, determination or creative chops to bring it to life? Let’s face it, great ideas happen all the time, but too often they die on the vine for one reason or another. Luckily, every once in awhile, a great notion becomes an undeniable inspiration and that inspiration becomes a, well, a calling, that eventually makes the world just a little bit better. Such was the case in the mid-1980s when James Jannetides, then a student at Southern Illinois University, faced a challenge common to most on-campus college students: not enough dorm room living space.
Jannetides not only had a great idea – creating space in the student residence by elevating the beds – he also had the drive and determination to make it happen. In the more than 25 years since, James Jannetides and University Loft Company have continued to pioneer breakthroughs in modular student furniture for university housing. In fact, James holds several college student furniture patents!
University Loft Company continues to develop, test and market new products in student, government and residential housing markets. These new furniture products will surely continue to change the face of on-campus residential living over the next 25 years and beyond. In the meantime, of course, tens of thousands of students in colleges and universities across America and around the globe will continue to benefit each day from the student furniture products from University Loft.
Inspired innovation. That pretty much sums up where University Loft Company came from and how we’ll continue to move forward. How about you? Have you dreamed up or devised a life-enhancing product?
