Beginning with the Wood
The wood used for our furniture comes from a very strong tree, the Hevea Brasiliensis. This tree grows faster than an oak tree, and the fortitude of the wood has been proven stronger than that of the Northern Red Oak. The trees are useful throughout their entire life for the latex they produce, but when the tree stops making latex, it is cut down and used for its hardwood. Hevea Brasiliensis is good for the planet. University Loft uses wood from it because of its strength, beauty, and environmental value.
To the Mill
Once the trees are harvested, they take a trip to the mill and are cut into lumber. They are treated in a manner that leaves little chemicals yet rids the wood of pests creating a safe piece of furniture for your use.
To the Factory
