Efficiency? Yes. Shortcuts? No. University Loft Maintains High Standards When We Build Student Furniture.

You could say that University Loft doesn’t cut corners when we manufacture our solid wood student furniture. Truth is, however, that we DO cut corners… and drawer fronts and bed ends and… Well, you get the picture. But did you know that University Loft takes quality very seriously? Sure, you can see the quality in each piece of solid wood student furniture we produce. And college students certainly experience the University Loft quality firsthand, day after day and night after night in dorm room residence life. But let me explain two ways that University Loft demonstrates its commitment to producing the highest quality college student furniture:

Investment

To build the most durable student furniture, University Loft continues to invest in manufacturing technologies. In fact, ULoft has invested more than $2 million in new furniture production equipment and technology since 2010. (Tools like state-of-the-art saws, shapers and sanders.) This high-tech equipment makes it easier for our master craftspersons to do their best work – in the most efficient manner – building solid wood loft-style bunk beds, desks and dressers.

Philosophy

University Loft takes advantage of the production and inspection principles of the “Toyota Way”. The Toyota Way demands excellence and accountability, but it also means that we put the right tools in the right hands to make our top-quality goal a reality with each student furniture product we make. It’s not easy to function according to this production philosophy, but we think it’s worth it. (Maybe that’s why University Loft is always the “big manufacturer on campus“!)
