In life, a close connection with someone can lead to lifelong friendships or romantic relationships. In business, having a great strategic connection can help your business grow. In baseball, solidly connecting with the ball can result in a game-winning home run. And when it comes to building furniture for college and university residence halls and dorm rooms, strong connections mean lasting quality and longer-term value. That’s why University Loft Company makes sure our student furniture uses only the best construction and connection methods.
What types of connections do we use?
For our desk and dresser drawers, we use state-of-the-art English Dovetail joints. These interlocking “keystone” shaped cuts make pull-apart failures virtually impossible. To make our drawers even stronger and keep them in perfect alignment, however, we go a step further and add corner blocks. (Heck, even our full-extension drawer glides can support up to 100 pounds of weight!)
In our college student bunk beds and solid wood dorm room chairs, we use ultra-strong mortise and tenon joints. How do we make these joints even stronger than you might find in other student furniture? Our high-tech furniture manufacturing equipment – controlled by skilled University Loft furniture artisans – make the most precise fits in the industry.
It’s the power of a strong connection. It’s the University Loft quality difference. And it’s the difference between failure and success in college student furnishings.
