Times Square New York CityWhen young film star Dakota Fanning entered New York University in the Fall of 2011, she passed up the opportunity to live in an NYU dorm room. Oh, sure, she can afford the $8,000+ per month rent on a posh Manhattan apartment (and yes, John Mayer was reported to be a neighbor), but I think I know the real reason Dakota turned down the NYU dorm and residence life experience: NYU dorms aren’t outfitted with University Loft college furniture. Pity.

Dakota must have found the lure of the Big Apple irresistible. What else could explain her choice when she could have chosen from hundreds of colleges with ULoft dorm room furniture on campus? After all, when you live in a dorm room equipped with University Loft’s solid wood student furniture, you can make the space your own with dozens of possible furniture configurations. Even if Dakota had opted for a single dorm room, she could still loft her bed and tuck the desk and dresser beneath. That way, she could maximize her living space to make room for the awards she has already won and those sure to come.

Yes, sadly, Dakota Fanning is missing out on the University Loft dorm room furniture experience at college. But we still have lots of our student furniture being enjoyed by Dakota fans…er, that is, by fans of our furniture at Dakota State and South Dakota State. Are you listening, NYU?
