University Loft Velcro upholstery makes maintenance a breeze!

According to Wikipedia, Velcro was invented in 1941 by George de Mestral. Since then, Velcro has become an immensely handy tool and has a wide variety of applications. It is used in clothing, shoes, briefcases, and even disposable diapers. Velcro is also highly useful in outer space, helping astronauts keep their grip on items that would otherwise wander off in the zero-gravity environment.

University Loft also takes advantage of the wonders of Velcro. Several of our upholstered chairs and sofas have fabric covers that can be easily removed from the upholstery. This is a great feature for when the cover needs repairs or you choose to replace the cover in favor of another color or pattern. Say you’re redecorating the room–keep your ULoft furniture and just replace the cover to match. Talk about room solutions and space planning! It also makes cleaning the furniture a cinch. Simply remove the cover and toss it in the washing machine. No more shampooing and waiting for the cushions to dry.
