The heartbeat of University Loft is to be ready when we can to assist others as a need arises. From partnering with Friends of the World to helping homes for less fortunate people, University Loft has been involved. When a former employee reached out to Freight Manager, Candice Johns, for advice and help in a big move, she stepped up to lend a helping hand. You could call it a freight blessing from the freight and shipping department at University Loft, or in Candice Johns words, “Our mission and my mission to help others.”
Once an employee of University Loft, Jared Crabtree had a heart to do missionary work in Germany. He fell in love with the people and the country and is moving there to live as a missionary. He needed a little guidance though and knew he could approach Candice to help him coordinate this big transition. She gladly helped organize the move of his personal effects. “Once he had everything locked in place, he quickly realized that he needed a pickup facility other than his current residence. I agreed to help him prepare for his journey.” Candice shared. “Jared brought his belongings to University Loft where he helped Todd place his goods on a pallet to be shrink wrapped and banded for pick up.”
Candice’s enthusiasm to help her fellow Uloft co-worker shined through. “I was excited to be able to help an old colleague and forever friend in his journey to help teach and serve through God’s Word.”
University Loft is about more than furnishing your facility and selling furniture, it’s about people. As owner and founder, James N. Everything Must Change in the Heart of the Community is an 501(c)(3) transitional housing program for second – chances, addiction recovery, and homeless populations. We are servicing communities in Philadelphia PA, and Baltimore MD. We are non- profit organization that empower second chance populations. Offering transitional housing, life skills coaching, family reunification, and connection to mental/addiction therapy to our residents and providing them with information to available resources to improve their lives to be productive members of society. Due to the pandemic population have had a growth and the cost of items had increased. We are in desperate need of beds and frames to accommodate the growing population of homelessness.
