It might be far-reaching to try for a stress-free holiday season, but we can unload a few extra stresses during the holiday rush. Most people have a lot of extra activities going on. There’s shopping and parties, baking and concerts, family gathering and traffic jams, we take the bad to enjoy the good. Let me offer some commonsense suggestions to keeping things in the calm mode. Here are 5 tips for a less stressed holiday.
Keep your to-do list down
Commit only to what you know you can handle. You will have fun doing it and gain a sense of accomplishment.
Spend within your means
We are tempted often to spend more than what we have. If you don’t have it, don’t spend it. People understand. There are lots of ways to give gifts without overspending. You can bake a special treat and put it in a nice container. You can offer your services such as a night of babysitting, cleaning a home, or washing a car. Your thoughtfulness will be seen and appreciated.
When you know you must be somewhere, give yourself enough time to arrive and a bit extra. I was once told that if I was on time, I was still late. Running late definitely adds stress to the day.
Take time to relax
May I suggest The Orbital by University Loft Company? This chair is so comfortable. It’s perfect for a quick snooze. It comes with a blue or red interior. Some have speakers where you can play soft music and just chill after a long day of holiday activities.
Having fun is the bottom line. So, even when the traffic is ridiculous and the lines at the check-out are outrageous, find the joy in every moment. It is after all, the most wonderful time of the year.
I hope these tips help! Happy Holidays!
