A college student sat in his cramped and cluttered dorm room wondering how he could make better use of the space that he had and become more organized to get the most out of his studies. He was just a kid trying to get through college, like any other student. The uniqueness

of this kid was the dream in his heart to make better use of the tiny dorm room space that he had. That was when James Jannetides began sketching ideas for the loft beds. His vision took on new meaning when he knew that other students would love having loft beds in their rooms too. Once the design was perfected, he had it patented and University Loft Company was birthed. Today loft beds are in 1100 institutions in 7 countries.
