8 Ways to Get Back in the Swing of Things

Coming off a long vacation and going back to a rigid schedule can not only be hard, but also looked upon with dreaded dismay. Oh, if only you could continue sleeping until noon and run about with only the cares of what outfit you will wear and what time the next activity begins. Instead, you must face going back to classes, studies, and schedules. Transitioning from vacation to college can be difficult. Though I’m not an expert in this field, I do have a lot of experience in this type of transition that I would like to pass on to you. Here are 8 ways to get back into the swing of things.

Start Visiting Z-land Earlier

If you have been staying up late and getting up later than your typical schedule, start going to bed earlier to help transition back to an earlier schedule.

What’s Up?

Go over your calendar and events listing to see what you have going on over the next few weeks. This will give you something to look forward to and help plan ahead.

Back to It

Make a list of your favorite classes. This will help you anticipate the new schedule and routine. You may even start counting the days until you go back to classes.

Change It Up

If you carry a purse or bag, this is a good time to change it out. Start fresh with a cleaned-out purse or bag, or pull out another one for a new look.

It’s Up to You

Decide now that this will be your best semester yet. Plan to make new friends, look for new common areas to hang out, and new places where you can study.
