Once again University Loft Company ("ULC") is expanding its facilities with a $250,000 installation of a new production line for metal furniture products at the Greenfield, Indiana facility.

CEO James Jannetides is extremely proud to make this investment despite economic hard times. The expansion will provide an additional 30 full time jobs at the Greenfield, Indiana facility.

Compelled to keep and protect Indiana jobs, Jannetides purchased the equipment from an Indiana factory in Richmond that was closing their doors.

ULC was recently awarded a multi-million dollar contract to provide metal furniture for the Camp Lejeune Marine Base in North Carolina.  ULC's expansion will enable the company to provide a quick turn around time to meet the military's deployment schedules.

Ventura Lopez, Director of Government Sales, said the “award was a milestone for the company” in a succession of outstanding service marks throughout ULC's history.

Solid wood and steel furniture product lines as well as the upholstery products by ULC are in high demand by our armed forces through out the world.  This furniture is built to last and ULC is committed to expanding their ability to satisfy the need for these products.

“We are making the very best products for our service men and women around the globe.” Said Jannetides.  “In the good old fashioned American way we have beat out our competition and now it is our privilege to provide jobs for Indiana while producing high quality furniture for our country.”

ULC was founded in 1986 by James Jannetides while attending Southern Illinois University. James built a loft for his room to maximize space in his typically small dorm room. Other students admired his loft system, and that summer James invested his savings in enough wood to build 400 loft units. Upon returning to school, these high-demand lofts were sold to fellow students and ULC was born.  Today, ULC manages more than 1,200 university accounts per year, and is also considered a leader in the government and retail markets. Committed to providing a superior product with an unmatched service level, ULC is the leader in the contract furniture industry.
